Arren Lenau

I met Arren through my friend Mel. At the time of season one, early in the pandemic, I had just started working for Mel at Parson's Realty. Nick, another person who worked for Mel, had come and done a tinyboatsession on a Friday. On Monday, everyone was pretty sure the governor would sign the stay-at-home order. I was already in the boat when I got a text from Mel about her friend Arren, who could rip with the guitar. A text, a phone call, and 40 minutes later, Arren was in the boat. The sun had just begun its magic hour, and Arren began to play. Arren's voice filled the park, and they sang a song about riding a bike in Seattle that made me laugh and cry. I brought Arren to shore and waved goodbye. An hour later, the stay-at-home order was signed. My total songs for that weekend was 44 songs. Below are some of her words from March, 2020. Find Arren:

“I'm Arren Lenau, a writer, musician, traveler, bicyclist, friend, lover, gender/queer, feminist, empath, counselor. I went on a mini-vacation to the Peninsula like everything was fine. Then I experienced sheer and utter panic. Then I calmed the @#$% down and went to work. Then my therapist told me I shouldn't go to work as a high-risk person. So then I didn't. And then I thought, oh, I was right to panic. I'm now staying home and hopefully writing more words and songs. Maybe even posting them on Instagram for people. And I'm so grateful I got to be a part of @tinyboatsession!!!” Arren, March 2020
