I know Dennis through Champagne. I do a tour by rowboat in Seattle. It’s the cute little boat I did most of tinyboatsession 1 & 2 in. It’s been a great opportunity to meet people. One of them was Champagne, from Oakland. We had a lovely tour. Champagne knows many people because she is in the arts, involved with her community, and has several hobbies. One of these hobbies is riding motorcycles. Through this, she met Dennis. When I headed to the Bay Area, I reached out to her to see if she had a song in a tinyboat or knew anyone. One of the folks who saw it was Dennis. He’s met her through the motorcycle community. He reached out.
On the day of our tinyboatsession threw his guitar on his back and rode his bike across the bridge to Sausalito. He usually sings in his band, The Hot Mountain Dips, but had some solo songs he felt were outside the band's usual purview. He played, and the wind picked up.
