I met Mason because he was one of the few folks that reached out to me after randomly coming across tinyboatsession on the internet. He reached out after I had shot Season 2 and since Season 3 was outside of Washington. It was almost an entire year or more before we could meet up for season 4. We met down by the Ballard Bridge and found backgrounds of brightly colored workboats that line Salmon Bay. He likes to do his music in a mask, and I think the anonymity helps him with his expression.

That being said, I also like the idea of a guitar-playing, singing monkey in my boat. Maybe I should come up with a story about how I met this guitar-playing monkey at the zoo and we went off and did a tinyboatsession? That sounds like a fun children’s book… and I live close to the zoo…

Joking aside, I really like the chance to get a glimpse of people’s creative processes. It felt good to follow through with someone whom I’d been trying to create a tinyboatsession with for so long. -Jordan and Clarabelle
