I met Ollella because she knew Kate Dinsmore. She saw Kate’s story about tinyboatsession, ended up liking a few posts and I saw she played the cello! I’ve had guitars, tiny guitars, Ukuleles, harmonicas, dulcimers, drums, violins, and mandolins, but no cello. I asked her if she wanted to do a song in a tinyboat and she said yes! Now I hoped the cello would fit in a tinyboat. We met in Ballard and joined by my buddy Eddy Harris, an amazing author who, like me and Clarabelle the cute little rowboat, had traveled down the Mississippi River twice under human power. He was in town from France to do a talk at UW.

The three of us rowed out to a fine sunset on a cold evening on Salmon Bay. We found old rusty ships that looked full of stories. Ollella played a song about sailing the sea with her father that was hard to get out of my head. We spent a lot of time laughing. Then I found out she also went to the University of Puget Sound. It’s always fun to meet another Logger in the wild. -Jordan and Clarabelle
