Sprout
Humboldt Bay, Eureka California
I meet Sprout because Sneaky Mandy made a last-minute phone call in the waning hours of what would be the end of Season 7 out in Eurika, California. Sprout came out with a banjo accompanied by a photographer named Taina.
Sprout had no idea about tinyboatsession, just that she heard there was a guy collecting songs in tinyboats and that sounded like fun and Taina could give her a ride to the bridge. The two of them piled into the boat with Sneaky Mandy and we rowed up into the wind and found the last bit of light. Although the morning had been cloudy and rainy the afternoon had warmed up nicely but as the sun fell it was starting to cool off again there were blankets and there was a convivial cozy vibe. Sprout played ‘Long Lonesome Road” By Peggy Seeger on her banjo. I think seeking out beauty might be worth being lonesome for a spell. I felt a bit of that in between all these great days on the water, but every time I got on it with a musician I never doubted I was in the right place. After the songs had ended the four of us floated about till the sun told us it was time for season 7 to end.
