Adam Kreek

Adam and I met at San Francisco International Airport. It was about eight months after winning a gold medal for rowing in the men's 8 in Bejing for Canada. I was about two and a half years from winning an ocean rowing race and getting Guinness World Record. My teammate Brad, with whom I rowed with college and raced across the ocean, had connected the three of us through Harold Aune at Whitehall rowing. He had invited us to race some of his open water rowing shells in Sausalito. From this emerged a friendship that would take us from Vancouver Island, Senegal, the mid-Atlantic, and a near disaster in the Bermuda triangle...in a rowboat. Adam always has a song in his heart and often traveled with a mandolin. When I was looking for songs I knew Adam would have a few. One of these, he came up with rowing across the ocean, "All hail to the James Robert Hanssen," the name of our rowboat. But that's another story. Adam is a motivational speaker and business coach. Find him at www.kreekspeak.com. He sang these songs in Victoria while his kiddo filmed. Below are some thoughts he gave me in March 2020. Find Adam on Linkedin.

“I’m Adam. I'm an Author and Executive Business Coach. I'm a family guy. I love working out. I've rowed across the ocean with OAR Northwest and am a Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist. When you row, music wells up from the deep. I'm thrilled to support 'Clarabelle' (the rowboat) and be a part of this project. I'm singing and swinging and strumming and humming with my kids.” Adam, March 2020.
