I met Bela and Emma of 'Queentide' in Santa Barbara through another New Mexico Connection. My friend from high school, Charity, had settled here. Charity had been following Tinyboatsession and saw I was looking for some Santa Barbara musicians. She sent out a note on one of her email lists asking for local artists. Bela saw it and emailed me the day before I planned to shoot. She and a friend wanted to do a song. I had not heard back from her by the time I got to the water and had no phone number to call.
I figured if it were meant to be, it would be. It was. Bela came and bought her friend Emma from their band ‘Queentide,’ which seemed a really fitting band name for a tinyboatsession. They had just come out to the water from a morning of surfing and sang tinyboatsession duets with salt in their hair. Bela would end up introducing me to Alexandra, and Joey. -Jordan & Clarabelle
