Joseph Goforth was part of the Port Townsend crew of Tinyboatsession Season 2 (Ariel, Kristin, Dustin).  He showed up on a sunny day with a tank top with a shark on it and played on his banjo. A few months later, in the fall, I was visiting a friend in Port Townsend.   I brought my boat to see if I might rustle up a tinyboatsession or two. He was the only one available so he got to be a part o Season 3 back when I wasn’t sure what that was going to look like. It was rainy.  Joseph traded his shark tank top for a leather jacket and a coonskin cap.  He braved the rain, and we got three songs. With winter coming, I decided to take a break.  That winter I went south to visit family in Albuquerque. I was hit with inspiration along the banks of the Rio Grande and collected forty songs. Here, I met Stella.  She told me I would find some more songs in Humboldt, where she used to live and this began a road trip of 100 songs for season 3.  Later, as I was introducing artists, she would recognize Joseph.  Turns out they had both lived in Humboldt and had played at the same gig once.  Now they were both playing in another gig together, Tinyboatsession Season 3!
