I met Moh Alileche through Vicente. I had my first tinyboatsession shoot planned on the Rio Grande when Vicente called me up. "Do you have room for another?" he says. "Of course!" I reply. Vicente goes on "This dude is a for-real Berber! He's like the John Lennon of Algeria!"
So, Moh Alileche comes down with Vicente to the muddy Rio Grande. Moh has taken a meandering journey from North Algeria, starting with his birth in 1959. I'm sure he's gone a lot of other places, but at the very least his journey has taken him from North Africa to San Francisco, Portland, and now Albuquerque, which as we walked down to the river, he mentioned reminded him of home. He plays traditional Algerian Amazigh music, singing in his native Tamazight language. He plays North African instruments, he brought his mandol. -Jordan and Clarabelle
