I know Tyler through my friend Eric.  Many years back my friend Eric and I rowed down the Mississippi River.  Eric is into swing dancing.  Tyler was a friend of a friend who did swing music.  Tyler had come out for Season Three and had a great time.  He’d kept in touch and the timing had almost worked for him to play in Seattle for Season Four.  While I was in New Orleans working on Season 5 he and wife, and I had grabbed some begnets and coffee.  Now, for what would be season 6, our paths had met up back on the Rio Grande and it felt like meeting an old friend. 

Tyler plays in a band called Mint Skylark and through him, I’d meet a lot of other tinyboatsession folks including Raquel Torres, Nathaniel Morse, and  Jolynn Alarid.

Though he usually played in a band he had some songs he wanted to share with just him in a tinyboat. By the time he played some clouds had come in and mellowed the afternoon light.  Even though we were in the middle of a city it just looked like him in a canoe playing for a river and a mountain.
